Lean IT Service Management Lean

implementing the changes. This makes Lean different from any other process
re-engineering approach. Lean’s ease of use and simplicity to learn is

processes because they perform them daily, and they learn to utilize lean tools

Lean Software Development Lean
methods have helped cut the time to develop products to half the time with
half the number of people. Software development is rife with waste. Waste is
found in the frequent requirements churn, the number of software defects
generated, the voluminous re-testing that goes on at each stage of
development, the long delivery times from early specifications to software
completion, the lack of change tolerance in the software, maintenance
employees who are just clueless about the software they have to work on,

TRAINER'S PROFILE Robert
has over the last 10 years taught lean and worked on hundreds of projects all
over Asia and As
the Asia Pacific Vice President of a major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
software vendor, he implemented sustained improvements in the Customer
Support and Maintenance function. As early as in 1999 his organization topped
the Data Quest User Satisfaction Survey of ERP software vendors in S E Asia.
Over a 4 year period, he led an ambitious global performance improvement
project which utilized Lean principles and methods to drive up service levels
to ‘Best in Class’ standards. Customer reference-ability in Asia
Pacific shot up to 90% as a result. Since then he has been an advent
proponent of lean spending his time teaching and guiding companies how to
deploy lean. |
Robert Oh is the founder of Eagles Wings, and has more
than 25 years of experience. He holds an MBA, a graduate diploma in Business
Administration and a degree in Electrical Engineering. |
