• Implementing Continuous Flow, Workload Balancing and Work Area Design • Why large batching creates waste and extends Lead Time instead of making things faster • Maximizing use of equipment tends to result in Overproduction • FIFO Lanes, how FIFO surfaces issues within the Process • Pulling versus Pushing work, Pull Systems

• Why level Demand, how to Level the Volume and Mix, leveling Supply • Reducing the Interval (EPEI) improves Lead Time • Even an operation in the office can run with a beat

• Organizing the workspace for better productivity (5S) • The use of Visual Management and importance of Immediate Feedback and Communications • Reducing Setup Times and Interruptions • Cross Training and Flexing • Time Value Maps • Value Stream Mapping - a new way of looking at your processes • Organize for the Rapid Improvement Events (kaizens)

• Experiential Learning – Lean Game • Significant use of exercises will be made throughout this workshop along with case study materials to reinforce concepts and to teach how lean is applied in your environment. This is a hands-on action-oriented workshop
